1. Understand your needs

   1. Every library is different, different in size, purpose, clientele, budget etc. so it is difficult to copy cat everything from others to implement it in your premises. So, it is necessary to understand your needs, and how they are different in terms of above aspects. Here you will get some of broad idea about planing library automation.

   2. Though there are large number of standard configurations available in terms of hardware and software, but you need to find out what is available and what needs to be procure from outside or outsource.

   3. For starting up automation, you can start it by using minimum Intel Core i3 PC having 4 GB RAM and sufficient disk space, but that is not the good solution over the problem. As common desktop PCs are designed for 9 to 5 job. and they are not dedicated to serve as a server PC, and you need to plan your library automaton for long term.
